Builders and Building,
The builders Casey of Rochdale move in on 21st April.Thier contact number is 0800 032 8707. WWW.casey.co.uk.
The site foreman is Dave (two sugars) he is a carpenter.He will be visiting the houses in the Bride/broad block shortly. The first houses to be demolished are at the top end of Bride/ Broad st and Broad/boardman.
The builders will be using the space created to make a fenced compound for site parking and storage of materials.
Thre route used by contractors will be up broad street,thru the compound and back down Boardman. There are expected to be a maximum of 20 builders on site. The site office will be in the house sheduled for later demolition
at the bottom of Boardman street.
Demolition and re gable ending is expected to take 4-5 weeks. The work on each block is expected to take 12 weeks. The entire build is expected to take 2 years maximum. There will be a regular weekly meeting time for residents to
discuss progress with Dave and his boss and bring up issues,time to be arranged.
Contracts and payment.
The 'tie in only' contract that attracts no payment will consist of re roofing,chimney re building,sand blasting and re pointing gutters and downpipes replacing. It excludes replacing windows and doors. The private gardens created will not attract payment. There is a free legal aid service avalable from the Acorn centre weekly on tuesdays. Appointments bookable on mondays.
We strongly reccomend you make shure you fully understand the implications of the contract before you sighn up,do not be rushed.
Pennine 2000.
Pennine 2000 are tempoarily re homing tennants in anticipation of internaly refurbishing thier properties simultaniously with the external works (contrary to thier earlier intention). They are negociating with Casey who may well also do this work. We would ask Pennine tennants who wish to return to Harley Bank,to let the community association know and leave us yourcontact details so that we can try and help you if theres any problems.
Parking in Bride street.
A home owner from the west side of Bride street explained that there are parking and car manuvering issues in Bride street which have not been adressed in the plan.Helen Rodes of CMBC said that this will be looked at again.
